Katherine Mialkowski is a native of Atlanta, Georgia where she received her BFA from the Atlanta College of Art. She currently lives and works in Lawrenceville, Georgia and actively shows her artwork around the southeast.

Katherine Mialkowski’s artwork is mainly narrative with an emphasis on our connection with nature. People, animals and objects collide to tell stories of myths and tall tales, the plot and outcome is left up to the viewer. In her portraits we see the subject’s personality and story emerge through their interaction with the natural world. They are flanked with birds, accessorized with natural objects and fully emerged in their own personal experience. Her still life’s combine collections of objects found while exploring with a collision of animals investigating human objects. In her forest series we see animals in their natural habitat but with a narrative twist. The combinations suggest stories that may seem familiar to the viewer, but from where?
